How to Delete and Cancel Subscriptions on Amazon (The Complete Guide)

Amazon makes it easy to buy, but notoriously difficult to cancel. Here is how to find your hidden Prime Video channels, Kindle subs, and recurring product deliveries in one place.

How to Delete and Cancel Subscriptions on Amazon (The Complete Guide)

Amazon is the king of the "one-click" purchase. But when it comes to "one-click" cancellations? Not so much.

Because Amazon offers everything from streaming video to monthly diaper deliveries, they hide their cancellation buttons in three or four different menus. If you feel like you're playing a game of hide-and-seek with your own bank account, here is the roadmap to finding and deleting those subs.

1. How to Cancel "Subscribe & Save" (Physical Products)

If you have recurring deliveries for coffee, detergent, or vitamins:

  1. Go to Account & Lists > Your Account.
  2. Click on Your Subscriptions (sometimes labeled "Subscribe & Save").
  3. Select the item you want to stop.
  4. Click Cancel Subscription.

2. How to Cancel Prime Video Channels (The Hidden Ones)

This is where most people lose money. If you signed up for a "7-day free trial" of HBO, Paramount+, or Discovery+ inside Amazon, they won't show up in your regular App Store settings.

  1. Go to Account & Lists > Memberships & Subscriptions.
  2. Look for Prime Video Channels.
  3. Click Cancel Channel next to the service you no longer use.

3. How to Cancel Kindle Unlimited or Audible

  1. Go to Account & Lists > Your Kindle Unlimited (or Audible).
  2. On the left sidebar, select Cancel Kindle Unlimited Membership.
  3. Follow the three different "Are you sure?" prompts until it’s actually dead.

The "Forgotten Account" Problem

The biggest issue with Amazon isn't just the active subscriptions—it's the abandoned accounts. Many people have an old "Work" or "Student" Amazon account they haven't logged into in years that is still charging a card for a Prime membership they've forgotten about.

Since Amazon doesn't always send a clear monthly receipt for every sub, these "Ghost Charges" can go unnoticed for years.

Let the App Find the Leaks

Checking every corner of the Amazon "Account" menu is exhausting. That’s why I built GhostSweep.

Instead of clicking through dozens of menus, GhostSweep performs a deep scan of your digital shadow to identify every Amazon-related receipt, renewal notice, and hidden "Prime Video" charge buried in your history.

Stop the Amazon drain. Use the app to map out exactly what you're paying for and close the loop on those forgotten "Zombie" accounts.
